Mafra

Departure with direct destination to Mafra where we will visit the famous Baroque National Palace of Mafra, with a length of 232 meters and an interior with 1200 rooms and 4700 doors and windows. In the palace, one can visit the pharmacy with its beautiful pots for medicines and some surgical instruments, the hospital, with sixteen private cubicles from which patients could see and hear mass in the adjacent chapel without leaving their beds. Upstairs, the sumptuous rooms of the palace extend along the length of the western facade, with the king's rooms at one end and those of the queen at the other, 232 meters away. We will return to Lisbon via Sintra, where, if there is time, we can enjoy a traditional sweet in a typical pastry of the city.
